Director's Message

Pharmacy professionals are expected to play an important role in healthcare delivery by providing advice and guidance to patients regarding safe and effective use of medications. They are considered an important interface for patients for getting valuable advice on dosage, administration frequency, time of administration, and preventing adverse drug reactions and drug-drug interactions.

Pharmacy education in India traditionally has been industry and product oriented. In contrast to the situation in developed nations, graduate pharmacists prefer placements in the pharmaceutical industry. To practice as a pharmacist in India, one needs at least a diploma in pharmacy. A variety of pharmacy programs are offered in India: Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm), Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm), Master of Science in Pharmacy [MS(Pharm)] and Master of Technology in Pharmacy [MTech (Pharm)], Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), and doctor of philosophy in pharmacy (PhD).

The Gautam College of Pharmacy Hamirpur was established in the year 2019. At present we offer Diploma level (D. Pharmacy), Degree level (B. Pharmacy) & Masters level (M.Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Pharmaceutics) Courses in Pharmacy, whereas more postgraduate courses will soon be added in the forthcoming sessions.

It is my proud privilege being the founder Director cum Principal of the college. We endeavour to provide quality education to our students.
